BASF's Glasurit Series 100 has been confirmed as a valuable product for refinishing. Launched four years ago, the premium brand Glasurit's water-based paint system for automotive refinishing shines with outstanding performance in terms of sustainability, process efficiency and consumption.

Four years ago, BASF impressed the automotive refinish world with the revolutionary water-based paint system Series 100 from the premium brand Glasurit. Since then, more than 1,000 bodyshops in 20 countries have introduced Series 100, creating a new data base for BASF. This data confirms that Series 100 contributes to higher productivity, highest process efficiency and product quality, as well as having the lowest VOC content ever. "We already knew about the groundbreaking effect of Series 100 when we introduced it. Now we can prove it with hard facts. Painters in workshops around the world are getting the promised results and even more. We've gathered feedback from the market, worked with our customers and partners, and continuously improved our formulations and processes. Every set of data shows us that Series 100 gives our customers a real business advantage," says Chris Titmarsh, Senior Vice President, Global Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions at BASF.

The paint stores that use Series 100 on a daily basis report 40 percent shorter process times, increasing a shop's throughput, and 30 percent less material used in each application. Another innovation allows the workshops to use paint from previous projects. This enables 20 percent lower consumption and 50 percent faster process time. Based on this data, BASF is launching a new information campaign describing how workshops can become faster, greener and more colorful with Series 100. The campaign highlights the productivity gains and potential profitability of a workshop resulting from shorter process times. It highlights Series 100's leading position in sustainability with the lowest VOC content of less than 250 grams per liter, exceeding all VOC requirements worldwide. And it reinforces Glasurit's product, process and color training with expertise on the Refinity digital platform, which helps workshops achieve 100 percent color accuracy. "We have a great story to tell with Row 100," says Titmarsh. "Now we want to share our new data-driven results with the market to show how profitable a partnership with BASF and Glasurit can be."
