Automated painting system from Dürr and Kawasaki Robotics

Automatic, flexible and high-quality painting processes, long standard in the automotive industry, are now also in strong demand across all industries. Dürr is therefore adapting its painting technology specifically to robotics solutions for general industry.
In Dürr's latest cooperation with Kawasaki Robotics, both partners have prepared products from their respective portfolios in such a way that they are electromechanically compatible with each other. Robots and painting equipment can thus be connected much more easily and quickly to form a robot-assisted painting system. Various Dürr products whose interfaces harmonize perfectly with Kawasaki robots are now available in the "ready2integrate" concept - including metering pumps, color changers, paint spray guns and the EcoBell2. Selected Kawasaki robots have been matched to Dürr's established EcoAUC control system, including the RS007L high-speed robot and the new KJ155 painting robot. Using a simple selection matrix, Kawasaki and Dürr products can be chosen to match each other and installed and commissioned in the shortest possible time. Several joint customer projects are already underway.
"We want to open up the possibility of automating their painting processes to a wide range of businesses. Therefore, it is crucial that the effort and hurdles for integrators and end customers are minimal," explains Ulrich Tautz, Sales Manager for Industrial Products at Dürr. "This is exactly what our ready2integrate concept aims at. This includes the precise matching of our painting technology with leading industrial robotics. With the Kawasaki robots and the compatible Dürr application and control technology, we are optimally expanding the ready2integrate product range." Marc Kluge, Team Leader Marketing at Kawasaki Robotics, sees great potential in the cooperation: "Dürr is a global market leader for painting technology and the perfect partner for Kawasaki Robotics to combine state-of-the-art solutions with user-friendliness and cost-effectiveness. It's been great to see our teams bring their expertise and ideas together, and we're very excited to now bring our joint results to market."
