At Parts2clean in Stuttgart, Richard Geiss GmbH will show how more sustainability and a smaller CO2 footprint can be achieved in parts and surface cleaning. The company presents solutions for more circular economy and less CO2 in the cleaning process.

In Hall 10, Booth A37, Richard Geiss GmbH, one of Europe's leading companies in the field of solvent recycling, will present not only its proven products for the degreasing process but also its latest innovation for solvent monitoring and maintenance: Cleanstab AS. The sump stabilizer ensures equilibrium in the solvent bath for modified alcohols. "I am particularly pleased that we are part of parts2clean again this year, after a break of several years," explains Bastian Geiss, managing partner of Richard Geiss GmbH. "I am even more pleased that we will be able to present an absolute novelty to the visitors in this context: our stabilizer Cleanstab AS for modified alcohols, which we have developed in our in-house laboratory in Offingen. It is the ideal complement to our already proven Cleanstab S," Geiss continues. Cleanstab AS is a sump stabilizer with a pH value of 13.5 (at 20°C) and is used in cleaning systems for surface cleaning and metal degreasing. As a stabilizer for modified alcohols, it reduces the acidity of the solvent while raising the pH. If the solvent bath is too acidic, this has negative consequences: There is a risk of corrosion for both the cleaned parts and the equipment.

However, a stable solvent bath not only protects equipment and components, but also the wallet and the environment. "Regular monitoring and post-stabilization increases the service life of the solvent. If the solvent has to be replaced less often, that means lower costs for the degreasers and less waste and CO2 for the environment," adds Bastian Geiss. For decades, Richard Geiss GmbH has been committed to the sustainable approach of solvent recovery and recycling. The Bavarian family-owned company is a specialist in the processing of solvents and their return to a functioning closed-loop system. In the process, the distillates achieve 100 percent of the original product quality and save a great deal of CO2 emissions. "In the case of our GEISS PER perchloroethylene, the CO2 savings are even around 90 percent compared to fresh goods," clarifies Bastian Geiss. Whether high-quality solvent recyclates or fresh goods, Geiss also focuses on sustainability in its own energy management. The company is self-sufficient in a good third of the heating energy required, for example for the distillation and processing of used goods. For the power supply, the figure is as high as 60 percent. Thanks to heat recovery, regenerative power sources and the "Waste to Energy" concept, Richard Geiss GmbH saves around 2,500 tons of CO2 per year. "Our sustainable energy management thus also has a positive effect on the CO2 footprint of our solvents," clarifies Geiss. Another topic at the booth of Richard Geiss GmbH is the offer of contract cleaning at the company headquarters in Offingen for the metalworking industry, such as automotive suppliers.
