At Parts2clean 2025 in Hall 10, Stand D52, Plasmatreat GmbH will be presenting the new Plasma Treatment Unit, a pioneering solution for industrial surface cleaning that removes particularly stubborn organic and inorganic residues in equal measure.

Plasma specialist Plasmatreat has equipped its Plasma Treatment Unit (PTU for short) with the latest technology and is bringing this system to Partsclean in Stuttgart. HydroPlasma - the combination of open-air plasma and distilled water - enables efficient, environmentally friendly and material-friendly preparation of substrates for demanding finishing processes such as structural bonding, sealing or coating. In many manufacturing processes, such as in the automotive industry or in the production of renewable energies, absolute surface cleanliness is crucial for high-quality and long-lasting results. It is important to reliably remove residues that can negatively affect subsequent processes, such as fingerprints or oil residues. HydroPlasma, developed by Plasmatreat GmbH from Steinhagen in North Rhine-Westphalia, now closes this gap and adds this new solution to the product range. The process effectively removes not only organic but also inorganic residues from a wide variety of materials in an environmentally friendly manner.

HydroPlasma live demo & fluorescence analysis at Parts2clean

Visitors to Parts2clean 2025 can look forward to unique live demonstrations of the new HydroPlasma process: the Plasma Treatment Unit (PTU for short) is equipped with open-air plasma and HydroPlasma. Metal parts contaminated with fingerprints or oil residues, such as release agents, will be cleaned and analyzed live. The Fraunhofer IPM's fluorescence scanner is also used here. The scanner analyses before and after images clearly show how much the surface cleanliness differs before and after treatment. Visitors are also invited to bring their own flat material samples, which will be cleaned on site and then analyzed with the scanner. The technology on show at the Plasmatreat stand enables highly effective and environmentally friendly (ultra-fine) cleaning of a wide range of materials - from flat to complex or large-format components - and is aimed in particular at specialists in parts cleaning, quality assurance and surface technology.

HydroPlasma for reliable and chemical-free surface cleaning

"With HydroPlasma, we offer the industry a powerful, environmentally friendly and economical solution for one of the biggest challenges in modern manufacturing: the reliable and chemical-free cleaning of a wide variety of surfaces. This opens up new avenues for quality and sustainability in production," explains Magnus Buske, Managing Director at Plasmatreat GmbH. "However, our technology is not only suitable for cleaning, but also for coating. Our PlasmaPlus application AntiCorr is often used specifically for metal applications, such as housing seals for the automotive industry. In this case, we apply a wafer-thin, silicon-like layer that reliably and sustainably protects components against undermining corrosion. This process is already in widespread use and naturally fulfills the standard climate tests and salt spray tests, such as the PV1209 or the MeKo-S test."
