Miele has launched a compact cleaning appliance for industrial parts cleaning. It features a powerful circulation pump, a programmable logic controller, a powerful drying unit, optimized spray arms and an easy-to-operate colour touch display.

With a new cleaning appliance, Miele now offers a compact solution for demanding cleaning tasks in industrial parts cleaning. The PLW 8636 IPC model is only 90 centimeters wide. It cleans metal, plastic and electronic parts such as solder frames and circuit boards, as well as optics, watches, medical instruments and implants. The technical highlights include the most powerful circulation pump in this appliance class, a programmable logic controller (PLC control), a particularly powerful drying unit, optimized spray arms and an easy-to-use touch colour display. The appliance is initially available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and will gradually be introduced in other countries. The "heart" of all functions is the industry-proven PLC control system, which can be used to flexibly create your own programs. 26 programs are permanently installed. Some are available in three performance levels, which adjust the water volumes and pump speed as required. Authorized specialist personnel can also change all other process parameters. They are shown as full text on the large, intuitive touch color display.

Miele parts washer: Full effect in every cleaning and rinsing phase

The frequency-controlled circulation pump is designed for up to 600 liters of water flow per minute, making it the most powerful in this compact appliance class. As the speed can be controlled as required, the spray arms are fully effective in every program phase - even at maximum load. This efficiently removes filmy and particulate soiling and protects sensitive parts. All basket spray arms are equipped with nozzles on the top and bottom which, in combination with the powerful pump, enable a particularly homogeneous spray pattern. This allows the technical cleanliness of all parts to be achieved reliably and repeatably. A flow heater located outside the rinsing chamber heats the process water. According to the manufacturer, a high degree of soiling of the parts to be cleaned is not a problem - and manual pre-cleaning is not necessary. The best results are also ensured by a gap-free welded rinsing chamber made of high-quality stainless steel and an integrated water softener, which is regenerated using a separate program. A conductivity sensor and redundant temperature sensors monitor the cleaning and rinsing processes. The new appliance can also be equipped with additional optional control functions: Up to four dosing pumps that can be adjusted to the respective applications and up to four flow meters that can be calibrated also create the best conditions for repeatable cleaning results. When cleaning materials that must not only come into contact with pure water, detergent and water can also be fed into the rinsing chamber at the same time.

Drying unit for more air output during drying

The new drying unit is more powerful than ever before with a ten percent increase in air output. An upstream and easily accessible HEPA filter H14 effectively removes particles from the drying air. The appliance therefore meets the highest requirements for technical cleanliness in accordance with VDA 19 or ISO 16232 and is even suitable for cleanroom applications. Operating personnel can easily load and unload this appliance thanks to the ergonomic loading height of 80 centimetres. The "EasyLoad" is a convenient loading system consisting of baskets and inserts that has already proven itself in many cleaning applications. It offers the best conditions for safe positioning of industrial parts. The sturdy appliance door can be loaded with up to 50 kilograms when open. There is a convenient and space-saving drawer for storing cleaning agents. The cleaning appliance can be connected to a local network via an Ethernet connection. Process documentation systems can be connected via REST/JSON-based communication, which ensures both fast data transfer and transmission in a wide variety of formats. The advantage in day-to-day work: the existing infrastructure can still be used and costs and effort remain manageable.
