VOA presents annual report 2023/2024

Last year, the VOA's work focused in particular on updating the Best Available Techniques Reference Surface Treatment of Metals and Plastics (BREF STM). For good reason, the association is making an enormous contribution to the new edition together with its member companies, as active participation in the European "Seville Process" offers the opportunity to help determine the standard for efficient, environmentally friendly production. In order to know "where the shoe pinches", the VOA regularly conducts surveys among its member companies. The association keeps abreast of the current situation in the surface finishing industry and is in contact with representatives from politics and industry and influences the political decision-making process in the interests of its member companies in a transparent and comprehensible manner. In particular, the cooperation with the umbrella organizations at German and European level - the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw) and the European Association for Surface Treatment on Aluminium (ESTAL) - is very fruitful.

The VOA passes on its bundled practical knowledge in numerous video conferences and seminars and thus actively contributes to securing skilled workers. The Technical Commission brings together practical knowledge from different areas of application, allowing forward-looking topics to be optimally promoted and intensively worked on in the project groups. This results, for example, in helpful leaflets for day-to-day work in the company as valuable benefits for members. To summarize: The entire surface finishing industry benefits from the enormous know-how that is united in the cross-generational VOA network. The interests of the member companies and the needs of the surface finishing industry are always at the heart of all VOA activities. The VOA demonstrates the importance of membership in this strong trade association every day: from representing the industry in politics and business, to offering further and advanced training with the aim of securing skilled workers, to the wide range of service-oriented benefits for member companies.
