Standox presents its new matt clearcoat system: the clearcoats Standocryl 2K System Supermatt K9150 and Standocryl 2K System Silk Gloss K9140. Due to the formulation with state-of-the-art, significantly smaller pigment size, these two new matt clearcoats achieve the best and professional results right from the start with every application.

The intermixable clearcoats Standocryl 2K System Supermatt K9150 and Standocryl 2K System Silk Gloss K9140 are industry-leading coatings that allow refinishers to match the widest variety of gloss levels to original automotive finishes - from matte (5 GU) to semi-matte (65 GU). Erik Faßbender, Head of Training Standox, Refinish Systems Germany, emphasizes, "Many original finishes are often inspired by nature and the matt sheen found in them. With our matt clearcoat system, we also inspire in a high-quality way. In our role as refinish experts, the responsible task falls to us to develop a new matt clearcoat system that enables our refinishers to achieve the best, high-quality matt finishes with consistent and reproducible results right from the start, and with low inventory - just as you would expect from Standox."

The clearcoat system is based on the latest innovative Axalta technology and has been specially developed for use with Standoblue or Standohyd Plus basecoats and Standox basecoat or original finish, respectively. Refinishers are now able to identify matte color tones on the Genius iQ colorimeter. Using Standox's advanced digital color management software, Standowin iQ, they can also quickly and easily determine the appropriate matt level for the color formula. After application, the two new clearcoats offer improved accuracy in hue and effect pigments, resulting in a significantly less pale or milky appearance. They set high standards for high-quality results, with excellent homogeneous and uniform repair results without cloudiness - even at very low gloss levels. Standocryl 2K System Supermatt K9150 and Standocryl 2K System Silk Gloss K9140 clearcoats feature robust application for part and full coats. "Refinishers using this premium system benefit not only from incredibly reliable results, but also from a significant reduction in drying time of up to 35 percent compared to existing systems. This contributes to savings in energy costs," adds Erik Faßbender. The coatings also make work easier for painters, as they do not require a special additive for application to plastic parts and the 800 ml cans can be stirred quite easily by hand.
