Laserline expands management team with third managing director

Laserline, a leading international developer and manufacturer of diode lasers for industrial material processing, is expanding its top management team. The third Managing Director alongside the company founders Dr. Christoph Ullmann and Volker Krause has been Dr. Claus Narr since January 1, 2025. He completed his doctorate in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and was Group Leader for Production Logistics and Managing Director of the RWTH start-up myOpenFactory during his time at the Machine Tool Laboratory. Dr. Claus Narr has been with Laserline since 2011 and has held various key positions.

Dr. Narr started as assistant to the management and thus supported the management in the establishment of the branch in Shanghai/China as well as in the expansion of production and administrative capacities at the headquarters in Mülheim-Kärlich. He also took over production management in the area of compact diode lasers and later became Head of Quality Management and Service. Most recently, he was Head of Production and Service. In 2021, he was appointed Managing Director of the new subsidiary Backes Electronic. As a member of the Laserline management team, he will support the founders in managing the operational business in the future. "As founders and managing directors, we see it as our responsibility to position our company optimally for further growth," emphasize Christoph Ullmann and Volker Krause. "We are therefore all the more pleased to have Claus Narr at our side, who is very familiar with all company processes and products and whose expertise and experience Laserline has already benefited from for many years.
