Dürr: New paint spray gun for color changes in just a few seconds
A new low-pressure paint spray gun makes color changes many times faster and easier. The joint development by Dürr and HSM Lackiersysteme features a quick-change system for the paint channel. In just a few seconds, the paint spray gun is ready for use again after a color change without the use of solvents
Like all low-pressure paint spray guns from Dürr, the latest model, the EcoGun ACE, is characterized by its robust design for industrial use. According to the manufacturer, it achieves a demonstrably outstanding spray pattern with a high degree of application efficiency and simplifies color changes thanks to quickly exchangeable nozzle inserts. The new development is complemented by a particularly stable and leak-proof cup system from HSM Lackiersysteme. This has both a safety closure and an anti-soiling device that ensures easy-to-read measuring scales at all times. The highlight of the joint development is a new type of quick-change system for the color channel, which brings considerable time and cost savings. The new low-pressure paint spray gun is used, for example, in the woodworking trade, in vehicle refinishing and in yacht and boat building.
Previous flow cup paint spray guns are equipped with a cup containing the paint. When the color is changed, the cup must either be cleaned and refilled or replaced with an appropriately filled, new cup. In addition, all ink-carrying channels between the cup and the nozzle must be flushed to prevent contamination and paint mixing. This cleaning is time-consuming and requires the use of solvents. The new paint spray gun scores with an innovative system that enables much faster changeovers. The entire paint channel, including the nozzle, can be replaced quickly and easily. This means that the spray gun is ready for use again in just a few seconds - a time saving of 90 percent compared with conventional low-pressure guns. The use of solvents can even be dispensed with completely. "We are pleased to be able to offer, together with HSM, a particularly user-friendly product that sets new standards in the low-pressure sector," affirms Ulrich Tautz, Senior Sales Manager of Industrial Products at Dürr. "Particularly in industrial sectors, for example the woodworking trade or the automotive repair sector, where low paint volumes and frequent color changes occur, this new paint spray gun is an advantage." The gun will be distributed directly by Dürr and its partners.
