The DIN Committee for Chemical and Electrochemical Coatings (NA 062-01-76AA) is getting a new chairman. On September 12, 2023, master galvanizer Dominik West was unanimously elected to this honorary position for three years.

Dominik West takes over the position of chairman of the DIN Committee for Chemical and Electrochemical Coatings from Dipl. Ing. (FH) Karl Morgenstern, former authorized signatory of WHW Walter Hillebrand GmbH & Co. KG, who accompanied the work of the committee as chairman for more than ten years. The main tasks of the chairman include chairing the committee meetings and monitoring the implementation of the resolutions passed. In addition, the contact to industry associations is his responsibility, especially to the ZVO and the DGO. As part of his new role as chairman, Dominik West has been appointed as the German expert for the European Technical Committee CEN/TC 262 Metallic and other inorganic coatings and will attend the CEN/TC 262 meeting on December 5, 2023 as the German delegate.

Dominik West is a master electroplater with more than 20 years of experience in all areas of electroplating. From research and development of innovative plating processes to production of the corresponding bath chemistry and practical application, he has extensive know-how. He has several years of experience in process monitoring and quality assurance, even of larger electroplating plants, and was responsible for laboratory analysis. Today, West is laboratory manager at Brenscheidt Galvanik Service GmbH. The DIN committee NA 062-01-76AA is responsible for national standardization in the field of chemical and electrochemical coatings using electroplating processes. From the development to the introduction to the review of German standards in this field, it also participates in the processing of certification tasks. Further tasks also include cooperation in the corresponding European and international standardization.
