X-Rite Pantone Integrates Color Measurement for Surfaces

With Spectura, X-Rite Pantone is introducing a new generation of portable spectrophotometers for color control of surfaces. The platform is designed to standardize color measurements from the lab all the way through production.
X-Rite Pantone has introduced Spectura, a new generation of portable spherical spectrophotometers for industrial color and surface inspection. The platform is designed to enable consistent evaluation, particularly when dealing with different materials, production sites, and tight color tolerances. Spectura combines advanced optics with a high-resolution camera for measurement point positioning, temperature-compensated measurement, NetProfiler integration, and cloud connectivity. High consistency with existing handheld and benchtop measuring instruments from X-Rite is intended to help reliably transfer color standards from the lab to quality control in production and reduce measurement deviations.
Color Measurement of Coated Surfaces in Production
Through integration with X-Rite Color iQC, color and instrument data can be transferred directly into digital quality control processes. This enables, for example, the early detection of color deviations on painted, coated, or dyed surfaces and the comparison of measurement results across multiple locations. Spectura is available in three models: The S60 is designed for mobile color comparisons, the S62 for ongoing quality control, and the S64 for applications with tighter tolerances as well as for consistency with Ci7800 benchtop spectrophotometers. The Spectura series will be presented at Fakuma 2026 from October 12–16 in Friedrichshafen in Hall B1, Booth 1307.
