Dörken PFAS-free coating solutions accepted at Volvo

Dörken achieves another milestone with PFAS-free coating solutions in a specification: Volvo Car Corporation includes a complete system in the VCS 5737.41 specification - including confirmation of a black topcoat.
The discussion about a possible PFAS ban is often accompanied by the question of whether PFAS-free coatings can achieve the same performance as established PFAS-containing systems. Dörken now provides another clear answer: yes. The coating experts from Herdecke are continuously developing and expanding their PFAS-free portfolio. The result: Volvo Car Corporation has included PFAs-free coating solutions in the VCS 5737.41 specification. With the inclusion in the Volvo specification VCS 5737,41, the following system combinations are officially approved: Delta-Protekt KL 100 or Dörken Base 120 combined with Delta-Protekt TC 502 GZ as well as Dörken Base 120 together with Dörken TOP 500 Black.
Dörken's PFAS-free systems meet high requirements
The silver topcoat was defined as the standard color, the black topcoat was released as an additional option - a particularly noteworthy step. This is because the requirements for performance, defined coefficients of friction and a high-quality appearance are particularly demanding for black coatings. "We are delighted about this further milestone in the development of our PFAS-free systems," says Sabrina Hilbt, Strategic Sales Manager at Dörken. "The approval of the black topcoat in particular shows that our solutions fully meet even the highest technical and visual requirements." With this renewed acceptance of the specification, Dörken underlines that more sustainable alternatives do not have to be associated with compromises in terms of performance and quality.
