PaintExpo 2024: Softec presents apps and augmented reality
At PaintExpo 2024, Softec will be presenting a wide-ranging program based around the Omnitec ERP solution, the industry software specifically for surface finishers such as powder coaters. In addition to the ERP system modules, Softec will also be presenting Omnitec mobile, a new development and portfolio of apps. One highlight among the apps is augmented reality (AR).
A special highlight of the Softec trade fair program at PaintExpo 2024 is the presentation of an AR app that was developed as part of a research project. The app is designed to enable predictive maintenance in production and make important information visible at a glance in the right place. For this purpose, virtual data panels can be placed on which - via interfaces to systems and the ERP - relevant information and measured values are displayed, for example temperature curves, concentrations and maintenance information such as planned maintenance work. In addition to text, the app can also display graphics, e.g. diagrams, and external links that can be accessed via buttons. Maintenance and system information is displayed exactly where it is needed.
With Omnitec mobile, Softec will be demonstrating live on the stand how production can be accompanied by apps. Starting with simple order entry via barcode scanning in the incoming goods department, photo documentation, feedback of PDA and QA data through to creating the loading list during loading - there are apps for many work steps that can be easily integrated into the process and thus reduce walking distances and save time. ERP systems from Softec have been supporting the surface industry in all processes from goods receipt to production and delivery for over 30 years. More than 190 surface finishers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland now plan and control their business processes with Omnitec. The range of functions is constantly being expanded and improved to simplify day-to-day work, save time and increase production efficiency. Softec will also be demonstrating the variety of solutions that an industry-specific ERP system offers at PaintExpo 2024, where users can find out about various solutions for order processing, planning, production and quality assurance. The solutions on show range from simple paper documents and mobile apps for recording data to ultra-modern, elegant solutions such as various interfaces and networking within and outside the company.
