Brillux Industrielack is completely converting its core range of powder coatings to low-temperature coatings. The company has optimized and completely redeveloped all previous products for this purpose - while maintaining the same reliable quality.

Industrial processors and contract coaters can bake the new powder coatings from Brillux at significantly lower temperatures and thus reduce their CO2 footprint. Alternatively, it is possible to increase productivity with shorter throughput times. The changeover is the main focus of Brillux Industrielack at PaintExpo 2026. NT powder coatings are on the rise. However, unsatisfactory qualities, visual defects or process-related reasons have so far prevented their widespread breakthrough. The choice still often falls on proven powder coatings with classic formulations. This is now different at Brillux Industrielack: "NT products are now the new standard in our powder coatings range. We are consistently converting our core range to NT technology," emphasizes Dr. Dirk Schlosser, Head of Research and Development Powder Coating Systems. "This is our commitment to greater sustainability and efficiency in the process chain." To this end, Brillux Industrielack has reformulated and optimized all products from its core powder coating range. Depending on the area of application, processors can choose between epoxy and polyester powder coatings as well as mixed powder coatings, which are hybrid products that utilize the advantages of both technologies. Brillux Industrielack also offers powder-based clear coats. Due to the different surface structures and gloss levels of the products, the manufacturer has converted a total of 27 qualities. To enable a complete system structure on an NT basis, the corresponding powder primer is also available as an NT variant.

Low-temperature powder coatings from Brillux for greater efficiency

The new core range for NT powder coatings from Brillux Industrielack opens up efficiency potential for processors in several respects: Reduced curing temperatures can significantly reduce energy consumption and thus CO₂ emissions. They also have the option of retaining previous parameters such as the stoving temperature and thus reducing the throughput time accordingly. This increases productivity. A middle way of reducing the temperature and curing time is also conceivable if required. Behind the changeover lies intensive development work on the part of Brillux Industrielack. "Our aim was to redevelop the powder coatings without compromising on quality. All product variants meet this requirement at least as well or better," explains Dr. Schlosser. The NT powder coatings have the same proven properties as the previous standard products, including high corrosion protection, mechanical resilience, excellent UV and weather resistance and very good flow for high-quality surfaces. The overbake-resistant design of the NT powder coatings increases tolerance to process-related deviations and reduces the risk of rejects. Brillux Industrielack has already tested the new products on various customer systems. Various powder coating types have also already met the factory standards of different manufacturers.

NT product presentation at the PaintExpo 2026

Brillux Industrielack is making a consistent change: Anyone who wants to purchase powder coatings in the future will receive the new NT qualities. The only exceptions are powder coatings, which must meet an individual factory standard. Brillux Industrielack also wants to gradually achieve this with the NT powders. The changeover is accompanied by an adjustment of the product names. Bestsellers such as the universal polyester powder 5940 or the premium polyester powder 5930 will become B-Powder LT Coat PE 5950 or B-Powder LT Premium Coat PE 5990 in the new NT range. Special powder-based coatings such as the antibacterial Steriface coating or anti-graffiti coatings will remain unaffected by the changeover for the time being. Anyone who wants to see the benefits of the new NT powder coating range from Brillux Industrielack for themselves can get to know the products at PaintExpo 2026 at Messe Karlsruhe. The company is launching a new real sample folder to coincide with the trade fair appearance. In addition to the switch to NT powder coatings, Brillux Industrielack will also be presenting powder coatings for military applications with the F9 certificate from the German Armed Forces Institute WIWeB for all relevant camouflage colors as well as the powder coatings sample collection as a practical consulting tool with binding real samples.
