An exciting but also challenging year 2025 for industrial surface technology is coming to an end. It was characterized by a persistent economic downturn, but also by innovations and trends such as greater sustainability and automation.
Like the entire German economy and that of our neighboring countries, 2025 fell short of expectations. There is at least a little hope for 2026: many companies are reporting an increase in incoming orders at the end of the year, and economic institutes such as Ifo are also forecasting at least slight growth for next year. At the same time, structural change in the form of more automation, sustainability or energy efficiency is also continuing, which could prove to be a forward-looking investment, especially in the coming years.
In 2025, Surface Online could continue to position itself as an up-to-date and reliable information medium. This is reflected in the sharp rise in the number of hits and followers on the website (another increase of around 40%), in the newsletter and on social media. Oberfläche-Online has thus established itself as a leading trade magazine for the industry. In 2026, we will continue to provide the industry with specialist articles, news and service information - from event calendars to specialist dictionaries.
